2022 Round Up
As we come to the end of 2022, as is usually the case, it is a time for reflection on happenings throughout the year as we look forward to what we hope will be new special moments in 2023!
The past year brought us back to more normal living after the upheaval that Covid brought to the whole world in the previous two years. This saw the gradual return of visitors from afar and it was great to be able to be back sharing the passion we have for Island Blue Tobermory with our international visitors as well as our much loved British visitors to Mull. The two nations as far as we were concerned (possibly it was different on other Hebridean Islands) that most made the trip across the water were France and the USA. Obviously the latter had a much bigger pond to cross to reach Scotland and us on Mull! Let’s hope in the coming year of 2023 we get to welcome even more nationalities in the shop, it’s always rewarding to share ideas and feelings with our customers where ever they are from ..
We have been very fortunate to have such a great team of people consistently taking the shop forward these past few years. For myself it’s a great feeling to wake up in the morning and look forward to sharing a new day with our team, we are blessed with such talent and passion for Island Blue.
Our suppliers, be they a large or small concern, are highly valued by us and each year they never fail us in producing real gems for us to display and offer to our loyal customers. There certainly is a lot of talented people out there and makes buying for the shop so enjoyable and inspirational for us. We view it as a real partnership with our suppliers as without them life would be less creative for it.
With such a view as we have across Tobermory Bay from our front door we feel truly lucky to share it with all of you and throughout this year we have been fortunate enough to receive some really heartwarming feedback on the shop. I know that for many of you it’s your favourite shop, an accolade we do not take lightly and treasure immensely.
Well it’s been a year of change and happenings and not all good as one continues to bear witness to the terrible suffering in the war in Ukraine and of course the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. As one who feels proud to be British it’s been interesting to feel in recent weeks the warmth of affection that the late Queen held in Malaysia, a British commonwealth country we know very well.
As we are soon to pass into a New Year we genuinely look forward with Island Blue Tobermory to another year where we can be of service to all of you that make it to Mull. Thank you to all of you who support us online (this makes a big difference to us where we are located), and lastly a big thank you to our locals. We love it when islanders shop with us, it does indeed make us feel we are doing something that’s a bit special and different. Thank you all and have a joyful and peaceful 2023!
